Your mission:

As a Backend Software Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our existing core platform. 

Your responsibilities:

• You will be working closely with UX and product to influence the solution design with your expertise.

• Mentor engineers in best practices for developing great products.

• Pair program with and mentor other engineers in developing their technical and collaboration skills.

• Foster a culture of technical quality and operational excellence within the Engineering Department.

• Be hands-on in designing and improving our product and platform.

• Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends and innovate your team and department with your ideas

What you'll bring along to be successful:

• At least 5 years of production experience building scalable products. Passionate about architecture best practices, and collaboration with UX designers to implement a great product.

• Experience with backend development concepts (Java / Spring) such as domain modeling, API design, SQL, and performance. Ability to work lower down the stack if needed.

• Experience developing products using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and demonstrated ability to leverage these tools for increased productivity.

• Production experience in building web frameworks using Spring Boot. 

• Willing to be hands-on and contribute to the other layers of the platform (e.g frontend or infrastructure).

• Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with medium to long-term technical quality.

• Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work autonomously with a sense of ownership.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English and the ability to work well within a team, and with teams across the engineering organization.
